Our travel to Bhutan was organized by our Nepal based agent. At first we were little skeptical about Bhutan tour and worried how things would be. Upon arrival to Bhutan we were relieved to see that all our arrangement including Bhutan visa was done perfectly. Guide and driver welcomed us by offering us with white scarf what they call khadar in local language. Our Guide MrTenzin and driver Bikas were very polite and accommodating with all our needs and question that we frequently throw at him. They went beyond their duty. They took us to wear their traditional dress which we always wanted to experience. They also took us to mountains to put wind flags for my late Dad which was very touching for us.

Over all our trip to Bhutan was excellent and we would like to recommend Excursion to Himalayas to all our friends back home and specially our Guide and driver who gave us the most memorable trip to Bhutan.

Everything was very well organized though the tour program were very similar to the one given by other Bhutan tour operator. Given the extra day in Bhutan i would love to spend more nights at Phobjikha valley and do some village walk which i find very fascinating.

I would like to come back to Bhutan for Spring festival.

It was perfect,we like having the Bhutan Tour itinerary flexible. The food quantity and quality was excellent and we never went hungry. Our Bhutan Guide Mr.Bijay was more of a friend than a guide and was very informative. Difficult to find any fault with anything. I would say that Bijay and Bikas were the best companioin which made our Bhutan Tour perfect. Hotel in Paro had Wonderfull view and i would recommend Gangtey Palace Hotel for your future clients.Thank you once again for arranging quality Tour of Bhutan and we would definitely come again.

Well, we had a good start with the tour provided by Excursion to Himalayas. We all enjoyed with the tour program as the guide was really good and he could meet our satisfaction of the tour that we wanted to have. He gave us good explanation regarding the tour from basic to detail. We found a small problem for the meals which was unappetizing as we are fussy eaters. So overall we enjoyed our trip to Bhutan with Excursion to Himalayas and hope to visit again in Bhutan through the same Company.

Thank you,all the supporting team of Excursion to Himalayas for making our trip wonderful and hope to see you again.

From the time we landed at Paro till we departed we have been handled very professionally. Mr Karma Guide who was with us for the whole trip provided with full and complete information about Bhutanese culture and monasteries which was amazing. We will definitely return if God willing to this wonderful land of Happiness.

In December 2015, I took a week long journey to Bhutan, which was arranged by Excursion to Himalayas. My journey was perfect in every way. All of my emails were answered quickly with very clear information. Mindu Dorji, the owner of Excursion to Himalaya, designed the perfect travel itinerary for me that allowed me to see some of the very best that Bhutan has to offer.I was met at the airport by my guide and driver, who were both very friendly and professional. From the very beginning, my guide was helpful in telling me about Bhutan culture and history. At each of the places I visited, my guide carefully explained everything to me in an easy-to-understand way. I learned a lot about Bhutan during my weeklong journey. In addition, my driver was very careful and stopped everywhere needed for me to take photographs. The vehicle provided by Excursion to Himalayas was clean, spacious and very comfortable.

All of the hotels that were arranged for me were very nice and better than I expected! Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service provided during my Bhutan journey. I highly recommend contacting Mindu Dorji and his excellent staff for your journey to Bhutan. I am already planning a second journey with them!

Thank you for making my trip so excellent and memorable! My 5-day trip to Bhutan was a good learning experience. I really enjoyed every minute of it. The accomodation was comfortable, food – varied and tasty, driving – very safe. My special thanks to my guide Govinda who taught me a lot about Western Bhutan, its history, people and culture.
Everything was very well organised and I felt very comfortable. For all this wonderful experience I would like to thank Excursion to Himalayas and personally the company’s owner Mr. Mindu Dorji, who took care of every single matter and was very helpful indeed.
I will not hesitate to recommend Excursion to Himalayas to everyone, who would like to visit Bhutan. I am really fascinated by Bhutan and definitely come again soon !!!

The beauty of Bhutan (sceneries, forest, mountains, Dzong and Monastery) as well as Bhutanese people hospitality are still stick in my head until now. If I have more time in Bhutan, I would love to spend longer time in Punakha Dzong, Taktsang monastery, Wangdue and Thimpu (nice city)… much more to see in Dzong & monasteries such as paintings, Thangkas, sculptures…. mingle with monks and observe their activities, ceremony and most important to understand the history of such places. Wangdue Phodrang is such a nice area … the vegetation is very rich and diverse – with different type pine trees, maple trees & so many others, also nice hills & snow-capped mountains. Many different kinds of sceneries and landscapes during my journey from Wangdue to Phobjika…. breathtaking view!! The weather on December was sunny with clear blue sky, notso chilly but a really nice, fresh air….. I feel blessed with the good weather. I experienced a
snowfall on several places which has created more excitement on my journey… the winter scenery is just like on postcard.
Bhutan culture is still preserved… this is excellent!! I found that the Bhutanese people are very stylish – the men wear a “gho” (with stylish leather shoe) and “kira”for women…. really nice!!
Overall I was satisfied with all arrangements provided by Excursion to Himalayas, they even arranged a birthday celebration for me with nice red wine and birthday cake. How could I enjoy Bhutan without them.
Hotel in Thimpu and Paro… are Best: good food, good service, cozy room. In term of itineraries arranged by Excursion to Himalayas. it’s just perfect!! also the driver (I forgot the name) he’s good guy with nice attitude.
Thank you.

Himalayan High Trek in San francisco arranged a tour for me to Bhutan via Excursion to Himalayas one of the good local travel agent in Bhutan. The tour was handled promptly and efficiently. Though the proprietor Mr.Mindu Dorji who has years of experience in organising tour in Bhutan didn’t accompany me but all the arrangement was handled professionally. The food, accommodation was excellent and the trekking equipments provided to me during 5 days drukpath trek was excellent.
I would definitely recommend Excursion to Himalayas for those people interested to visit Bhutan. Now I know the range of trekking holidays option in Bhutan. The most amazing things that I enjoyed about Bhutan is the environment and the landscape. I am planning to come back with my family in 2011.

In my view the real beauty of Bhutan it is its unspoiled and virgin environment.
My father and I had a very good time getting to know the place and its people, Bhutanese people are very gentile, welcoming and spiritual.
I strongly recommend the experience and encourage to visit the country.I would like to thank Excursion to Himalayas for organising such a wonderful trip to Bhutan.

Currently there are way more than 300 licensed tour companies listed on the official website of the Tourism Council of Bhutan [1]. When me and my friend planned our trip we had a tough time deciding which company to go with. In the end we settled for “Excursion to Himalayas” [2,3]. In this post I would like to share our experience with you. Maybe it helps one of you in your own decision making.

Me and my friend decided on very short notice that we would like to travel to Bhutan. We sent inquiries to several tour companies, among them “Excursion to Himalayas” which had been recommended to us through a friend already. Of all the companies “Excursion to Himalayas” was the fastest to respond. The owner of the company, Mindu, immediately sent us a tentative itinerary and was open to accommodate where possible our additional requests. We felt good about his offer and decided to go with his company.

Then came the slightly troublesome part: Tour Payment for Bhutan Tour: The Bhutanese Government requires a full payment of the tour costs upfront before it issues a visa. The information we got from “Excursion to Himalayas” about the payment was a bit unclear – particularly the way in which the money is routed to Bhutan tourism/agent. We don’t have much experience sending money to such remote places. Long story short, eventually we figured it out and the money was transferred. It took several days to reach the bank in Bhutan, but Mindu was able to keep our plane reservations open until then. Nonetheless, we would have preferred to have more clear information and all details about the whole payment procedure.

We flew with Tashi Air (Bhutan Airlines) from Bangkok to Paro (stopover in Kolkata). Upon arrival our guide and driver were waiting for us. They were very friendly and helped immediately with the matter at hand: delayed baggage (by one day). Our guide, Lal Bahadur, immediately rearranged our schedule so that we would be able to collect the suitcase the next day from the airport.

In general we have to say that we were very pleased with the professional service delivered by our guide and driver. Even across very bad roads we never felt unsafe with our experienced driver. And our guide Lal was always friendly, spoke good English, was very informative and was able to answer most of our questions regarding random things and places along the way. In particular I enjoyed that he gave us all the time we wanted to visit temples. He was able to manage the time well even on days when road closures delayed our plans and he even rearranged the schedule to accommodate for us staying longer in some places we particularly enjoyed. We were also happy with all the hotels we were accommodated in.

We were initially a little disappointed with the food we were offered. It was always the same continental bland food. After having come all the way to Bhutan we of course wanted to sample the authentic local cuisine. We brought our desire to the attention of our guide and he promised to try and get us some authentic local food. And luckily he came true with it, because the local food is amazing. Oh yes, it is spicy! But it is unbelievably delicious as well! In the end on most days we had either Bhutanese style lunch or dinner, unless it wasn’t possible to change the pre-booked meals.

All in all we can recommend the tour company “Excursion to Himalayas” and our guide Lal Bahadur. At least we wouldn’t hesitate going with them again should we save enough money and come to Bhutan again some day.
