The minimum daily cost for staying in Bhutan is fixed by the Royal Government of Bhutan keeping the concept of “high value and low impact” tourism industry, this was the dream of our fourth King to maintain the quality of tourism in Bhutan.

The fixed daily tariff is USD 200 for lean season and USD 250 for peak season.

The Bhutan Travel season starts from March, April, May, September, October and November and lean season months are June, July, August, December, January and February.

The fixed tariff also covers all your accommodation in good 3 Star Hotel, all transportation, all meals and guide services.

Peak season months have lots of local festivals and the weather are very favorable to explore the cities and valleys where as lean season are cold and monsoon rains are rampant and landslides and snow can be expected.

Surcharge or Supplement cost

There are also group discount and single supplementary cost involved. The cost are as follows:

  • Single individual traveller: US $ 40 per night halt
  • Group of 2 persons: US $ 30 per night halt.

Discount and Cancellation on Bhutan Tour

Discounts

  1. DIPLOMATS from foreign embassies, missions accredited to Bhutan shall be given a 25% discount on the daily rates.
  2. Children up to 5 years of age there shall be no charge. Those between the ages of 6-12 years accompanied by elders, guardians shall be given 50% discount on daily rates.
  3. Full time students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards from their academic institutions shall be given a 25% discount on daily rates.
  4. 50% discount on daily rates shall be given to one person in a group of 11-15 people. 100% discount shall be given one member in a group exceeding to 16 persons.
  5. A discount of 10% on the daily rates shall be provide for halts between 11-20 nights.
  6. Visitors availing discounts under section 1, 2, 3 shall not be eligible for discount under 5.
  7. All detailed information on Druk Air flights,Bhutan Airlines, tours and trekking programs, festivals, places of interest, hotels etc can be obtained from the tour operators.

Cancellation

Any tour programs booked and subsequently cancelled shall be subject to cancellation charges as follows:

  1. Within 60 days of start of program – no charges
  2. Within 50 days – 30 % of rate
  3. Within 30 days – 50% of rate
  4. Less than 25 days or without notice 100% of rate

Delayed Arrivals

There are no charges for delays in arrival and departure because of weather conditions disrupting flights or road blocks. The tourist must however bear the cost of food, accommodation, transportation, and other services required.
